A Board Certified Expert --Diplomate may use the following credentials:

Listed in The National Registry of The American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress


A Fellow (who has achieved Board Certification) may use the following credentials:

Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress
Fellow, American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress
Listed in The National Registry of The American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress


Members, Associate Members, Diplomates and Fellows who have achieved additional certifications in Traumatic Stress Specialities identify themselves as:

Board Certified in Forensic Traumatology (B.C.F.T.)
Board Certified in Emergency Crisis Response (B.C.E.C.R.)
Board Certified in Bereavement Trauma (B.C.B.T.)
Board Certified in School Crisis Response (B.C.S.C.R.)


These professionals may additionally use the respective Academy Credentials, after their educational degree (e.g., Ph.D., B.C.F.T.) or other primary certification (e.g., E.M.T., B.C.E.C.R.), denoting their achievement of specific Academy certifications.
